A new entry into the first person shooter realm, They is a first person shooter that gets its bearings from such games like Halo, Quake, and of course Prey like game style. In a recent video presentation the game was shown in a half-destructed city with alien "what-have-yas" causing trouble (the ghostbusters tale only scratch the ghosts). From the impressions of the game the engine ran very smoothly while the atmosphere was very decadent and scattered with textures and details down to the very last rock. The creators of They talked about how they are using a new technology called "Different Lightning" adding as many independent lighting sources in the game, also they touched briefly upon the descructible enviroments and how this will make the gameplay more dynamic. It is pretty much to be expected out of any long haul FPS that the world will be destructible, since games like the new Farcry and Call of Duty 4 base a lot of their gameplay on this factor. What does this mean for graphic card updates? Were haven't got the latest yet, but by the looks of what we've seen, it won't break enough barriers for a total computer rebuild.
The game sounds great and we can't wait to see final build... Yes we really mean we "Can't Wait." They will be coming out in 2009, yes apparently They needs another year and a half to release the game. I know that this isn't the first time that a game has been told to be released 2 years in the future, but usually the game doesn't come packaged with a developer walkthrough. So just watch out for They since they have another couple years to shove media in your face, lets just hope its an awesome game, and not regret all the sleepless nights waiting 2 years for the game release.
