Ever heard of a game called System Shock, we sure *bleepin* hope so. Anyway this game is a lot like System Shock creating a great environment and feel to the whole game experience. Its an underwater-in-town, action, adventure, rpg, FPS. To break it down... You explore an underwater city that was made purely for the fact of experimentation, you might hear the Ayn Rand book "Atlas Shrugged" being coined as inspiration to the story. You fight these big daddy beings that are across between Scubba-man and the incredible Hulk, using first person weapons, guns, and the classic wrench. You resolve personal mysteries, and do a bit of "questing" along your journey. And finally you have a spell like system that can be upgraded through out the game. This is by far one of the best games of the year, and deserves all the creative praise that it is getting.

But what we are here to talk about is the incredible graphic structure in the game, which is a mix of realism and great art style. The game has huge mansion like buildings with a 40's look and water sprinkling down everywhere. Bioshock utilizes bloom and smear very well when light bounces off of water or when you are in gloomy places (which is pretty much the totality of the game). Once more the game is an absolute beast of visuals and can be a beast to run on your computer, it will run as one of the bigger games this year. Here is what were looking at:
